My Prayer Time

I have felt compelled for some time to share my prayers and talks with God with others. That is what this blog is for, and I hope God belsses you with these words. Of course, I would love to hear from others as well.

Spending Time With God

I have been coming under fire lately from the Holy Spirit. His mission has been to create deep within me an overwhelming desire to spend time with God through prayer and through meditating in His Word.

The really cool thing is that I have been praying that God would help stir me up, and He has. You know it’s a lot easier to take an hour or two out of your day for prayer and Bible study when you really want to. (:

However, I know there is a part for me to play, and I strive to be a responsible Christian and do spend time with God even when I don’t want to.

I read a morning devotional from Spurgeon today and thought I would pass on part of it. I liked what Spurgeon said and thought I would share it with you.

"Since the soul-enriching path of prayer is open to the very weakest saint; since no high attainments are required; since you are not bidden to come because you are an advanced saint, but freely invited if you be a saint at all; see to it, dear reader, that you are often in the way of private devotion. Be much on your knees, for so Elijah drew the rain upon famished Israel's fields."
